Saturday, September 29, 2007 was an exciting day for W. O. Grubb Crane Rental.  The company celebrated 45 years in business!

Approximately 700 guests attended the fantastic event!  Employees, retirees, customers, family and friends were all invited and treated to a day of fun activities, food and live entertainment from Southern Blend.  Buz & Ned’s served barbeque and hotdogs with all the fixings.  Everyone had a great time dining on seafood at the Crab Café and Oyster Rotunda while listening to fine tunes by DJ Dan with All American Jams.

Children enjoyed barrel train rides, hay rides, moonbounces, a petting zoo and pony rides.  Guests also experienced a rock climb wall, a mechanical bull and a Manitowoc Crane Simulator! Adults were given $50,000 worth of play money to use in the casino, sponsored by Manitowoc Crane Group.  Casino winnings earned tickets towards several prize drawings which included Manitowoc and Grove Carhartt jackets, leather poker set, a sports watch and a blanket.  Classic car clubs from New Kent County, VA and Louisa, VA attended the event to show off their custom vehicles. The “Best in Show” Motorcycle Contest was also a big success!  Employees who drove their motorcycles to the party were entered into the contest to win a $250.00 gift certificate to Harley Davidson. The winner was Sam Fattori, one of Grubb’s salesmen from Alexandria, VA., driving a 2003 American Ironhorse, nicknamed Slammer.

An awards ceremony was given, but not before, Bill Grubb gave a few words of wisdom and expectation for the future.  To close the evening, a spectacular fireworks display was performed.
